Materials You'll Need: 

Size U.S. 13 or 15 (10mm) knitting needles 
Weight: Bulky (5) or Super Bulky (6)
Yardage: 40-45 yards 
Knitting Gauge: 12 stitches = 5 inches in garter stitch 
Recommended yarn: Malabrigo Rasta, Chronicles of Cheryl Light Super Bulky, Chronicles of Cheryl Super Bulky, Lion Brand Wool East Thick & Quick 

Abbreviations 

K = knit 
P = purl 

Measurements 

5 inches wide by 18 inches long 

INSTRUCTIONS 

Using the needles needed to achieve gauge, cast on 13 stitches using cable cast on 
Row 1 - K13 
Row 2 - Slip 1 knitwise, K5, P1, K6 
Row 3 - Slip 1 knitwise, K12 
Repeat rows 2-3 until work measures 18 inches 
Bind off 13 stitches 
To finish the work: 

  1. Lay your work out widthwise with the right side of the work facing up 
  2. Fold the work in half lengthwise so the ends meet at the edges 
  3. Slide the bottom edge so the work meets halfway on each edge 
  4. Fold the right side in half up 
  5. Fold the left side in half down 
  6. Seam all 4 sides together and weave in ends 
  7. Turn the headband inside out 
  8. Adjust as necessary 

Optional Embellishment: Feel free to get creative with your headband! You can add a decorative button, a small knitted bow, some crochet flowers, or your very own tag for a personalized touch.
